Cloudflare Registrar Review 2026: Is It Worth It?
Cloudflare launched its registrar in 2018 with one bold claim: domains sold at wholesale cost with zero markup. That promise still holds in 2026. Here is an honest review.
The Pricing Model
Cloudflare pays wholesale prices to ICANN-accredited registries and passes them directly to customers with no markup. They make no profit on domain registration. Registration and renewal prices are identical — no first-year promos, no renewal increases. Ever.

The One Limitation
You must use Cloudflare nameservers. When you register or transfer a domain to Cloudflare, your DNS must be managed through Cloudflare. If you need to host DNS elsewhere — for compliance, vendor lock-in concerns, or preference — Cloudflare Registrar is not the right fit.
For most developers and small businesses, this is not a limitation. Cloudflare's DNS is free, fast, and feature-rich. But it is the main reason Porkbun and NameSilo exist as compelling alternatives.
Verdict: 4.5/5 — Best for Price, Best for Cloudflare Users
